EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BELT PROMOTION VIDEOTAPES

The purpose of this information is to educate you to the benefits of owning a piece of your or your child's Kenpo karate history! This page will also inform you of the ordering procedures to be used to insure timely delivery of your video.

The entire demonstration of skills for your entire belt group is included in each copy of the promotion. Basics (punches, blocks, kicks, strikes), self defense techniques and katas are all included. We encourage family members to bring a camera to capture that memorable event.

What can I hope to gain from watching myself on the video?

Many students find it very useful to watch themselves from an objective standpoint. Often, students realize that they actually performed better than what they had imagined! It is also easy to see what particular areas need more refinement, as well as what your particular strengths are.

Corrections of form and posture are more easily made after viewing yourself. Many students also report using the video as a workout tape. Put it on and workout to the commands!  Finally, the tapes provide a chronological look at your progress in Kenpo. You'll be able to see your improvement promotion to promotion! And parents--what a journal to have of your child's growth and maturity.

How do I order a video?

That's easy--simply stop by the Front Desk to place your order. We recommend that you do it on the day you are promoted to insure a timely delivery! There is a $5 late order charge if the order is placed more than one week after the promotion date. Delivery is usually within one week of ordering.

Each copy of a promotion demonstration is only $15!  What a bargain! We provide the tape--VHS format only.

What about subsequent tapes?

Each time you or your child is to be promoted, bring your current videotape to the Front Desk. It is important that you fast forward the video to the end of the most recently taped demonstration. There is a $5 wind charge if this is not done. The new demonstration will be put on just after the previous one.  When there is no room, a new tape will be provided.

Can I order back promotions?

Our video log dates back over 10 years! We can look up the dates of the previous promotions and put together your entire Kenpo history.  There is an extra $5.00 charge per promotion for this service.  The cost is $20. per promotion tape.
